As most of you know, I am a distributor of Young Living Essential Oils and recently received an email from my team leader Linda Smith that she forwarded to all on her email list. She often sends us information that she has received from other leaders.
There is a lot of information in this email and I had planned to forward it intact. But it turns out to be about 6 pages long so I decided to try to paraphrase it for you.
This note is about the dangers of prescription drugs and how it was prophesized in the Bible by John, in the book of Revelation. I am sure these are not all of the numbers that are available, as it looks like this study was done in 1995, but it is bad enough.
In a nutshell it says our ‘food supply is useless and completely without nutrients which our bodies and minds are starving for.’ And this is the reason for not only physical disease and disorders but mental and emotional diseases also. Suicidal and homicidal tendencies among others, as well as all addictions, such as sugar, nicotine, caffeine and other drugs, that we take to ‘jumpstart’ ourselves regularly to just get through the day.
As dangerous and devastating as this information is, what really caught my attention was something I have been suspicious of for quite some time. Just from the research I had done while working on my thesis I learned that people who took sleeping or pain pills were unable to dream and had great difficulty meditating. These were two things I was trying to teach others to do!
And it seemed nothing we tried worked. I felt that some level of sleep—the level that allowed one to access a higher consciousness—was being blocked with this medication. Following is the information about this from Linda’s letter.
SEROTONIN’S CONNECTION TO GOD
One extremely critical point for all Christians to understand is the serotonin connection to spirituality. These drugs work by increasing levels of the neurotransmitter serotonin. But 50% of the serotonin is metabolized by the pineal gland. What is the pineal gland? It is the master gland of the body known as the “seat of the soul” or our connection to higher, spiritual thoughts. In Eastern religions it is known as the Third Eye and is located right in the center of the brain. The question we need to ask is that if the Pineal gland is overloaded with large amounts of serotonin produced by these drugs, does it interfere with that spiritual connection? According to patients using these drugs it does! They continually report that they can no longer feel God.
One perfect example that comes to mind is that of Elizabeth Bush, the 14-year-old girl who shot her best friend at the private Catholic school they attended. Elizabeth’s hero in life was Mother Theresa. Elizabeth planned to devote her life to God and become a nun. So how did she go from that point to a charge of attempted murder almost overnight? I called her attorney when this happened and told him what happened was likely the result of the use of one of these antidepressants. He did not show much interest, but said he would check. Then the following week Elizabeth was interviewed on 20/20 where she made the statement that she could “no longer feel God anymore..”
So, as dangerous and life threatening as these drugs can be, even worse is the possibility that we can be severed from the spiritual by these drugs. Not only can they produce physical death, but also spiritual death?
Of course the reason this was sent out by Young Living was because they feel there are better ways to heal ourselves and one of them is with the essential oils. I feel there are many great alternative health therapies. But they don’t seem to have a great effect if our bodies and minds are completely saturated with chemicals and toxins.
So just some food for thought. I know it is easier said than done to eliminate all chemicals from our lives, but we just need to do our best. If anyone wants the email complete and intact I will gladly forward it to you,
